Did I ever think I would do cabaret again? NO

But, I did, they called me Frenchie this time, my third!

The first time I was 23 at Toronto’s St. Lawrence Center as a kit kat girl. Second time I was 27 In Paris at the Mogador Theatre and on tour across France and Italy as Sally Bowles and Fräulein Kost. This time, fall of 2023, in proper Ottawa, Ovation Productions unleashed a re-make of this timeless Classique that was truly subversive.

Everything about this show was as if we were in a Berlin Cabaret in the “30” with all the dangers of authoritarianism against a backdrop of illicit pan sexual pleasures.

My cast mates were all in their “20”. I am not in my “20’s”. The day after the show closed, I got my first pension cheque…. But the garters held their own and many pearls were clutched!
