New single- Dancing Fool
Hello friends! I am thrilled to share another single with you.
Dancing Fool is an original song about my first love: DANCE
I will never forget the day my parents bought our first TV set. I was 8 years old. We lived in Roberval, Lac St-Jean. We had no other electronics in those days except a small turn table with a very humble collection of vinyl records… Glen Miller, bossa, tango, cha-cha and some classic Québécois singers.
Every Saturday night, my parents would go to their social distancing lessons, whoops, social dancing lessons. Being the eldest of three girls, I was the default baby sitter. Saturday was a good night for me. I confined my sisters to their rooms (um, just kidding) and I had the big living room all to myself. I got to hang with my new TV friends. Fred, Ginger, Gene and Cyd… Charisse… my favorite, I wanted to be her, dance like her, I love the way she elongated every move. I would stand in front of the set and copy her. At least I thought I did. I fell in love…I discovered romance through dance.
In my flannel pyjamas, my big slippers, my little bangs, I realized, if you want to dance like them and make people dream, you have to train Tremblay… a lot.
My love of dance is profound. Dancing Fool is a song I wrote with Carlos Lopes. It expresses the freedom one feels when dancing, wild, all the way, no rules, no vanity!
So… from the comfort of our homes, Hugh John Murray and I concocted this lovely video… absolute social distancing, shopped online, choreographed with old black and white movies. I hope it bring you joy and get’s you dancing like a dancing fool!
